Climate protection and energy management (2023)
The importance of climate protection has steadily increased in recent years. This has led to stricter regulations and requirements from the government. At the same time, demand from our customers for certificates or similar proof of corporate responsibility is increasing.
The growing public awareness and financial implications of greenhouse gas emissions not only present us with new challenges but also offer ODM the opportunity to demonstrate that we have a solid and successfully implemented environmental protection concept. This concept is based on ISO 14001 but is not yet certified.
To avoid climate-damaging or energy-intensive production processes in the supply chain, we have implemented suitable processes for selecting materials. During the development of products or repair processes, relevant key figures are collected, and data is gathered from our suppliers to create a better database. This leads to positive developments in our use of materials. We pay particular attention to compliance with the RoHS regulation and the handling of conflict minerals. In light of increasing requirements, we constantly monitor these risks and, if necessary, reassess our material selection, look for alternatives, and adapt accordingly.
To actively control the development of our CO₂ emissions, we are developing relevant key figures and an energy management system to completely reduce our CO₂ emissions in Scopes 1 and 2. In the Scope 3 area, we are implementing measures to better collect data and reduce emissions. We see great potential for improvement here in the future.
