Digitalization at ODM (2023)
Since our founding, we at ODM have been actively involved in avoiding paper. We see digitalization as an opportunity to work paperlessly and thus save important resources in paper production.
Digital workflows ensure rapid information and data exchange, efficient work processes and complete documentation of processes.
Process-oriented software solutions are intended to further expand these processes.
They also make it easier to work from anywhere, thus making it possible to conserve resources and reduce traffic-related CO₂ emissions.
The compatibility of work and family life, as well as the reduction in work absences due to illness, can also be attributed to this. By implementing digital solutions, we have already been able to achieve significant savings in paper consumption in the past. The efficient management of access rights has significantly reduced administrative workload and enables our employees to work more flexibly and efficiently.
However, we also face challenges. More powerful servers that can process the increasing volume of data often come with higher energy costs. We are actively committed to minimizing this energy consumption and are continuously working on more efficient solutions.
Another key concern in this context is data protection and information security. To minimize these risks, we have implemented an information security management system, which we plan to certify according to ISO/IEC 27001 in 2024.
No relevant data protection or information security incidents were reported in 2023, which underlines the effectiveness and efficiency of our measures.
We conduct regular training and instruction courses to make our employees aware of the challenges involved in dealing with sensitive data. In addition, the acquisition of a security awareness platform is intended to further improve the optimization of training content in the areas of data protection and information security. The planned sending of test emails is also intended to reinforce security when dealing with sensitive data.
We have already invested heavily in the past to ensure that our data, as well as the data of our customers and suppliers, is protected and available at all times. In cooperation with our internal data protection officer and our information security officer, we carefully evaluate all aspects of digitization solutions and weigh up the risks. Our goal is to take advantage of the benefits of digitization without neglecting the security of our data.
